Peppol ID

In short: a Peppol ID is a business's address on the Peppol network — the identifier other participants and providers use to route documents to it, the way an IBAN routes a payment. In the UAE's system, in-scope businesses are registered on the network through their ASP, which publishes their ID and capabilities to the network's directory.

The ID matters operationally in two moments: onboarding (your ASP registers you, and your counterparties can now address you) and exchange (every document carries sender and receiver IDs, which is how corner 2 finds corner 3). Getting counterparty identifiers right — especially TRN-linked ones — is one of the quiet data-quality tasks of a readiness project.

Registered data must be kept current: under the penalty framework, failing to notify your ASP of changes on time is fined per day. Related: ASP · Peppol and the 5-corner model.
